John "Jack" Hahn's Obituary
John (Jack) Hahn, dad and grandpa entered into rest after a courageous battle with lung and heart complications on Saturday, January 23, 2021 in Fort Myers, FL at the age of 76. A resident of Fort Myers, FL since 2003, formerly of Michigan. He was born February 23, 1944 in Detroit, MI to John and Velda (Jessing) Hahn.
Jack was a 1962 graduate of St. Benedictine High School. He went on to own and operate Hahn Elastomer Corporation (formerly known as Hahn-Chardon Company) and several other businesses. After successfully growing those businesses, Jack went on to retire at the young age of 54. Jack was passionate about his family, traveling the world, gardening, sailing, golf, taking on the daily crossword puzzle and enjoying quality time with his grandchildren. Jack also enjoyed spending time with his large circle of friends, many of them lifelong.
John is survived by the mother of his children, Carol (Hanba) Hahn of Plymouth, MI; his four loving children, Janet Beauvais of Plymouth, MI, Kimberly Spillane (Kevin) of Highland, MI, Kevin Hahn (Denise) of Bluffton, SC and Brian Hahn (Lauren) of Rochester Hills, MI; three sisters, Judy Hahn of Grand Rapids, MI, Linda D’Angelo (Robert) of Plymouth, MI and Mary Kay Koff (Garry) of Grand Rapids, MI; one brother, Tom Hahn (Carrie) of Bluffton, SC; five grandchildren, Nicole Salvia (John), Grace, Madison, Matthew and Lily; one great granddaughter, Isla; as well as many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father John, mother, Velda and his sister, Margaret.
Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic the family will be scheduling a Memorial Service in Michigan for some time in the spring or summer. The service information will be updated via www.fortmyersmemorial.com
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association in loving memory of John Hahn.
