Grandpa was my fishing buddy, my partner-in-crime, and my friend; and to b honest there r too many good memories with him to share them all, but I will share a couple… For this first memory u need to take yourself back to the late 70's or early 80's. I just remember I was sporting the Dorothy Hamill haircut, and thinking I was all that &a bag of chips. Anyway, we were getting ready to go somewhere & David & I were sitting on the step out on Grandma & Grandpa's screened in porch putting on our shoes, which had sat outside all night. So I get my shoes on, and I feel something moving n the toe of 1 of them. I took my shoe off & banged it on the ground to get whatever was n it to come out, and when I saw that crab come out of my shoe, I hate to admit this, but I screamed like a girl & took off like I'd been shot out of a rifle in the opposite direction that the crab had gone. And as I sailed over the back of Grandma & Grandpa's couch, which wasn't as easy as it sounds because I was a chunky kid, I heard Grandpa say, "Larry, I didn't know she could move that fast" and then dad said, "neither did I, dad", and then they both started laughing. My favorite times with Grandpa were when I'd work at the liquor store with him. Because when things were slow, and all the chores had been done, we would sit and talk & talk & talk. One thing I never understood though was why Grandpa trusted me to drive his car??!!?? I'm the BIGGEST speed demon I know, although when he was with me I drove like I was 105 and out for my Sunday afternoon drive. Grandpa, u were & always will b loved more than u could've ever imagined… & I will forever b YOUR stuffed dummy
