Dear Uncle Ray,
It is with the deepest sorrow and sadness that I write this tribute to you. You may be gone from this earth, but you will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know you, and you will never be forgotten. While I didn't know you well, you were always kind to me. As a child, I fondly remember holidays with the Metz family, the air thick with the scent of Thanksgiving dinner and laughter. I remember visiting your house in CT, standing alongside my brother, pretending to understand what was so cool about your collector’s Jaguar. And, imprinted in my memory is a photo of you and Aunt Sandi – clad in gingham, the skirt of her dress flared out as you twirled her across the square dance floor. I've never told anyone this, but I used to sneak to your basement to stuff my pockets with gumballs from the gumball machine. Rest in peace, Uncle.
Love, Kathleen
