Karen F. Wells' Obituary
Karen F. Wells entered eternal life on August 14, 2020. Her spirit and memory are carried by her husband Stanley, children Tim (Beth), Jenna, grandson Luke, and brothers, Ron (Vicki), John and James (Susan) Formanik and many nieces and nephews. She passed at the age of 65, surrounded by her family at home. Those that knew her and loved her were inspired by the faith she exhibited especially in the final 3 years of her life.
Born on August 26th, 1954 in Cleveland, OH to Bert and Virginia Formanik. Karen graduated high school from Notre Dame Academy, continued her education at Bowling Green State University, where she met Stan and earned a B.S. in Political Science. She also received a Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Toledo.They were married in 1978 and moved to Ft. Myers, FL in 1981. She worked as a librarian at Edison Community College and her children’s school, St. Francis Xavier. A devout Catholic, Karen served her Church in innumerable ways. She & her family attended St. Cecilia’s Catholic Community where she served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Pro-Life Coordinator and volunteer. She was also actively involved with Rosary Groups and Direction For Our Times.
Karen dedicated her life to the service and love of her family. She embarked on several Catholic pilgrimages, loved travel and even more than that, loved to share these experiences with her loving husband of 42 years. She has inspired others to give themselves entirely to the will of God.
