Bart and I were just starting to get to know Ken and Carlene, our Florida neighbors. The instant we met them, we knew we had found two very special people. We hit it off with them instantly...the same values, the same sense of fun, the same midwest background. We were looking forward to a long friendship with both of them. We were both so impressed with how much they loved each other. We couldn't wait to get to know more about both of them. Then this happened.
The timing couldn't have been worse. But then, maybe the timing was just right. Maybe an intense love like they had for each other wasn't meant to last forever. Or maybe he just wanted to be first in line to talk with Rush Limbaugh.
Carlene, all I know for sure is that you were so blessed to have had this man in your life if even for a short period of time. We are praying that your sadness will soon turn to happy memories and the knowledge that he will be with you forever.
