Kim Levy's Obituary
Kim Levy, 73, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
Born in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, to Commander Richard S. Levy and Mildred Levy, Kim grew up in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He attended Hofstra University before earning his law degree from California Western School of Law.
Kim began his legal career as a public defender in Key West, Florida, before making Fort Myers his home. For more than 40 years, he practiced law in Fort Myers, where he became a highly respected bankruptcy attorney. Throughout his career, Kim helped countless people who came to him at what often felt like the lowest point in their lives. He treated his clients with compassion and dignity, helping them navigate difficult circumstances and making sure they understood one of the principles he deeply believed: there was "life after bankruptcy." His work gave many of his clients not only legal guidance, but hope and the opportunity for a fresh start.
While Kim took great pride in his career, his greatest joy was his family. He shared almost 41 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Ruth, to whom he was deeply devoted. Kim cherished the beautiful life they built together and the family they raised, which remained at the heart of everything he valued most. He is survived by Ruth; his three sons, Michael Levy and his spouse, Jordan, Jason Levy and his spouse, Rachael, and Jonathan Levy; his grandchildren, Emma, age 2, and James, 8 months; and his brother, Jay Levy.
Above all, Kim was a family man. His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was at the center of his life, and the time he spent with them was what he treasured most. He will be remembered not only for the successful career he built, but most importantly for the husband, father, grandfather, brother, and loved one he was to those who knew him best.
Kim's memory will live on through his family and the many lives he touched throughout his 73 years. He will be deeply loved, profoundly missed, and forever remembered.
