Larry Schuetz's Obituary
Larry Schuetz, 91, of Ft. Meyers, Florida, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away at home Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at St. Columbkille Church. Interment will be in Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens.Larry married Jean Desy on October 14, 1950, and from this union 7 children were born. Larry worked at Sue Bee Honey for 35 years. He spent 16 years as a volunteer at the Queen of Peace Shrine in Sioux City. He was very involved with landscaping and development of the grounds. He was an active member of St Boniface and Blessed Sacrament parishes in Sioux City. He was a member of the Sertoma Club and The Knights of Columbus, both 3rd and 4th Degree.In April of 2009, Larry & Jean moved to Florida to enjoy the sunshine in retirement.Larry is survived by his wife Jean and 6 children. Paul Schuetz, Matthew (Debbie) Schuetz, Mark (Penny) Schuetz, Margaret Peggy Schuetz, Diane (Jim) Bobier, and Carol (John) Cannaday. A son, Steve, died October 29, 2003, and Steve’s wife Paula died November 25, 2017. He leaves 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.He is also survived by 6 brothers and sisters. Sr. Bernice Schuetz, Ronald Schuetz, Gertrude (John) Sargent, JoAnn (Jim) Weston, Michael (Marita) Schuetz and Jim (Carol) Schuetz.He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Justina, son Steve, 2 brothers Joseph and Raymond and sisters Kathleen Port, Dorothy Huebsch and Mary Kollschegg.Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to planning the next vacation that usually involved fishing, traveling and frequent family visits.To leave a condolence at this difficult time please visit www.fortmyersmemorial.com
