Lena Berube Levasseur passed away June 23rd at the age of 84 at Gulf Coast Memorial Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by her children. She was born in Van Buren, Maine, on April 7, 1939, the daughter of Helen and Wilfred Read Obituary
Dear Dana and family,
Your mother was such a sweet lady. I only met her a few times when she came to visit in Alabama but could see her kind spirit. We are sorry for Lena's passing but know she is suffering no more. In her memory we've made a donation to the Alzheimer's Association for Dementia Research in hopes this will help the suffering of other people in the future. Sending prayers to you and your family.

Dear Lynn and family, my deepest sympathies. I will always remember how sweet, soft spoken and kind your Mom was. When she was packing to move to Calusa Harbour, she gave me some pieces of jewelry that I will cherish. She and I had quite a few laughs on that move. I told her that I thought she was moving because of their giant oatmeal cookies. Thank you, Lynn, for bringing your Mom to visit me. Heaven has a new member. Love, Marion
I remember the days of visiting with her, my uncle, and my cousins and I was always looking forward to working on another piece of ceramics with her when I was young. She was soft-spoken and had a great personality! Family meant everything to her and I will always have fond memories of my Aunt Lena! <3

You have been there for your mom so often over the last few years, back and forth to Florida, never sure whether the trip would be your last. God Bless Aunt Lena, she will be fondly remembered for her kindness and family get-togethers. We always looked forward going to Van Buren to see cousins, and Aunt Lena & Uncle Gerald. I still have a ceramic "skier" from Aunt Lena/Uncle Gerald, a Christmas gift 40 years ago, gaining some inside knowledge of how to get triple points in scrabble. (It was all about family)
