My father, John Walker met Penny while riding bicycles. They were married about a year later. Penny captured his heart and made him very happy the short time they were married. I remember her as a very kind and talented lady playing the piano and dancing. l believe she was even able to get my dad to sing in the church choir. They even dressed in the same colors occasionally. Penny always made me and my family very welcome whenever we visited. Thank you for making my dad and so many people happy.

We were blessed to have Penny live right behind us these last five years, Mary from Maryland met Penny from Pennsylvania, a match made in heaven. We watched her glide across the yard every morning, her hands making music in the air as she walked.
We spent hurricane ian together and she played the piano in the dark.
The funniest memory was Penny calling me saying, "Mary! There's a snake in the house!" Well, it was, but dead as a doornail from her beating it to death, all 12 inches of it.
She was such a bright spot in my life after moving to Florida. Penny will be missed for so many reasons, but we know she's at great peace now with her Lord and Savior.

Grandmom Penny was the best of the best in this world. She always had conversation and a smile for everyone. I remember as a little boy around the age of 9-10 that I would go to her house for the summer and she would have sooo many activities lined up to keep me entertained. And if I asked her to join in a board-game or woods walk she would always
take the time to join me. Every Sunday I would begrudgingly have to put on a suit and we would walk to church. I didn’t appreciate the clothing but I lived for the conversation about life on the walk. She would tell stories about animals we saw, great stories about cowboys and Indian adventures. Pirate stories with hero’s and maidens that were saved. Soldiers. I look back and remember that she never ever had an “evil” bad character in any of her stories. She was so positive that everyone deserved to have their story be apart of the tale. Not to say that she couldn’t be fiesty because she was very protective of us all. She loved to watch sunsets and at the end of every day spent together I looked forward to whatever she made us to eat. She was a chef in the kitchen, but also a master snack maker. A peanut butter jelly sandwich always tasted better if Grandma made it. It’s because she did everything with love. Feeding the birds that congregated daily was a way for her to connect with nature. And she knew every species! Cardinals were the special ones that made her the happiest. She liked their demeanor and patience at the feeder. Blue Jays are impatient she would say, but they have to eat too. And squirrels can be a nuisance at the feeder but still put out nuts for them. I always thought that carried over into my life with my appreciation of feeding people. I don’t think I have one solo fondest memory as they are all the makeup of my life. She will always be the best of the best in this world. Love you Grandma. Jon Martin
