Marita A. Kemp of North Fort Myers died on September 8, 2012 in her home after a courageous battle with cancer.?á ?á Born in Washington D.C on June 4, 1930.?á She was the daughter of Samuel J. Kemp and Anna (Horigan) Kemp.Marita earned?á a B.S. from Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J..?á She was?á a teacher in Manchester, Connecticut?á where she taught for over?á 27 years at Verplank Elementary School before retiring in 1977.?á She served as a president of the Manchester Chapter of ADK.?á After retiring from teaching Marita started a second career as a travel agent.?á Marita traveled extensively with friends and loved to share her stories.?á?á She was an avid golfer, and loved the time she spent with her friends at Del Tura.?á She was a wonderful, positive, kind friend who will be dearly missed by all.?á?á?á She is predeceased by her mother and father, Samuel?á J. and Anna Kemp and her aunt Agnes Horigan,?á and by her dear friend, Cele Moore.?á?á She leaves her godchild, Amy Lynch and her husband, Daniel Lynch and family and her many friends.?á?áA very special thanks goes out to all of her wonderful friends, and to the Hope Hospice Team 330.?á?á?á?á?áA memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 15 at 10 A.M. at St. Therese Catholic Mission, 20115 North Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers.?á Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Waterbury, Connecticut.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hope Hospice team 300 at 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, Florida.?á 33908.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.?á Online condolences may be made at: www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
