Mary (Hanna) Chun's Obituary
Mary (Hanna) Chun, 71, of Ft. Myers, FL, went to be with the Lord on November 12, 2018. Born on November 20, 1946, Mary spent most of her life in the Elizabethtown, KY area. She was involved in church ministry from childhood as a children’s teacher, leader, and piano player. She taught nutrition, was a bookkeeper and she also had successful businesses, including one making gourmet chocolate. She maintained a positive, humorous attitude. Mom loved family, friends & chose to enjoy the “peace that surpasses all understanding.” Her mission was to share the love and joy of Christ, in the hopes others would see His love for them. She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, George, daughter Mililani, and son, Dr. Galen Chun (all residents of South Florida); brothers, Neil (Barbara), Scott (Patsy), John (Twyla); her husband’s siblings, Virginia “Polly” Sakoda, Edward Chun & Grace Au; many siblings-in-law, nieces & nephews. We are deeply grateful to those who cared for Mary as their own family: dedicated healthcare providers, all who acted with excellence at Shell Point, HealthPark, Gulf Coast Medical Center, Hope Hospice, anyone who lovingly watched out for her, family, friends; to each one of you who lifted up her spirit. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:15 pm on Friday, January 8, 2019 at Shell Point Village Church, 15100 Shell Point Blvd, Fort Myers, Florida.
