I really enjoyed meeting you and Mike. “Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.” May the sorrow you feel in your heart lighten by the love that surrounds you. I can’t begin to express how deeply I am saddened by the loss of your husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mike was always so kind to me while I was in high school and best friends with Sharmon.
I will never forget the generosity the family extended to me my senior year of high school by inviting me to join the family on a spring break trip to Florida visiting Mike’s parents in Fort Myers. What a wonderful trip I had! My first trip ever to Florida. And, who can forget six of us piled in the car for the long drive there and back. I recall Mike taking a break while Betty drove and I was lying on the back floor board and Mike put the seat down over the top of me. He had no clue I was there until Sharmon told him.
I also fondly remember the support Mike gave Sharmon, me and the entire band! It meant so much to all.
Here’s a saying that has helped me during the time of loss and great grief. I pray the family can find some comfort in it as well.
Death leaves a hole no one can fill. Love leaves a memory no one can steal.

I will miss Mike very much. My heart goes out to all the rest of the family. I was blessed to have known him for 30 years as his son Darryl married my niece, and I considered him family. He’s in heaven now with all the other relatives and Jesus, and no more pain and suffering, he’s at peace 🙏 May God bless you all and be with you at this difficult time .
