I was a childhood fiend of Michael's from Inwood, I'm deeply saddend by the news of his passing. I have very fond memories of our friendship that lasted many years from ages 12 to 20 when we lost touch after I married. My mother and sister were fond of him also. He was always available to help some one in need, he was creative, charming, fun and all around a great friend, and got along well with everyone in our large group of inwoodites. I dated his friends and he dated mine but we were true friends and never dated each other. He also trusted me enough to give him hair cuts before I even became a licensed cosmetologist. We played a lot of Frisbee, went on hikes, the movies (close encounters being one of our favorites)and parties together. I was so happy i could follow his life with his family on facebook.
One thing about inwoodites friendships never end, my deepest sympathy to his all his family my heart is broken for your loss and mine of his friendship long ago. Susan Collins
