Neville Philip Shevloff's Obituary
Neville Philip Shevloff, 97, of Cape Coral passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Neville was born March 19, 1926, to Samuel and Rebecca (Lazarus) Shevloff in Southport, England.
Neville was a frequent snowbird for many years, and moved permanently to Florida in 1985. His career started in Aeronautics after graduation with a degree in Engineering from the University of Manchester. He worked for Short Brothers in Belfast where his first 3 children were born. In 1956 he moved to Canadair in Montreal where he was a pioneer in the use of computer systems to design aircraft. Two more children were born in Montreal. He then moved on to a major computer project for the Bank of Montreal. He met his second wife there and became the father of two more children from his second wife’s previous marriage. Their next move was to the USA where he managed systems for Cigna.
Throughout his life he had a passion for technology and computers, . He was an avid reader, and loved reading anything historical or aviation related. He travelled the world, often on cruises and enjoyed his retirement years.
His second wife,Liz, died in in 2015. He is survived by his first wife Elaine who is 94, all 7 children, 15 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Neville will also be missed by his friends and the staff at Gulf Coast Village and Palmview where he served on the board and lived out his last years.
Neville's family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the care of his final arrangements.
