It was a joy to be a part of your life. This photo speaks volumes and it is a memory I will cherish forever. I helped you get to the airport and board the last earthly passenger flight you would take. I am sorry that I couldn΄t be there when you boarded the last flight to your forever home but I am sure it was a glorious one. You will surely be missed and never forgotten. We will make sure to take care of your beloved Varvara.
I loved listening to Papou talk. His broken English and his fluent Greek always had me intrigued. I could listen to him forever hours! One word that I always heard him say was ‘Tepota’…(I know I am spelling that wrong lol). But I LOVED that word whenever he said it. One day I asked my husband what that word meant and he said that it meant ‘nothing’. The next time we went over, Papou asked me what I did that day and I responded with ‘Tepota!’ I will always remember his reaction to me saying a Greek word and he would always laugh with joy when I said it. I carry that word around with me always and I always think of him when I say it. It has become my most favorite Greek word.
