Patrick Logue's Obituary
Patrick Logue, 56, passed away on September 7, 2013. He was born June 24, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Russell and Elizabeth (Davison) Logue. He first moved to Fort Myers in 1985 from St. Louis and remained settled in the area since 1990.Patrick grew up with very limited financial means and spent much of his early years working to provide for his siblings, later dedicating his life to doing so for his children.With only some high school education completed, Patrick focused his professional endeavors on creating opportunity for himself and those he loved. He started a building company with less than $10,000 in 1995. That company, First Home Builders, grew to become Southwest Florida’s biggest residential developer and the largest private home building company in a single location in the United States. With his leadership, First Home Builders was nationally recognized in 2005 with the prestigious title Sales Team of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).Patrick was an avid billfishing angler and travelled the world pursuing his passion. He rose to the top of the sport, winning first place at the World Billfish Series Grand Championship in Costa Rica in 2008. Also a lifelong lover of aviation, Patrick more recently received his NATOPS rating in a restored T-28 Navy Trainer and enjoyed fulfilling his dream of becoming a pilot of a military aircraft.Patrick was a survivor of myeloid leukemia. Much of his philanthropic efforts were focused on helping children with cancer.Patrick enjoyed pursuing his passions with his children and loved ones. He lived with tenacity and dedication, often referring to the Henry Ford quote, “Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right.”Left to cherish his memory are his children, Patrick Scott Logue and his wife Carrie of Atlanta, Georgia; Kelly Peck and her husband Kevin of St. Louis, Missouri; Benjamin Torres of Michigan; brother Michael Logue and his wife Marianne; sisters, Denise Candice, Jo Anne Gipson, and Diane Schweppe and her husband Donald, all of St. Louis, Missouri; and his grandson, Daniel Patrick Logue.There will be a visitation on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
