Sending love and comfort to the entire Rose family.
I met Paul and Kathy through their daughter, Elizabeth. She and I were in school and couldn't travel. The Rose family welcomed me for a holiday dinner in Atlanta. Far from my own family, they enveloped me into theirs on that day and many others.
Though we all kept in touch, life led us in different directions. Over the years, we always made a point to get together whenever one of us was nearby. Shared meals, long conversations, big hugs, and laughing until we cried are my most vivid memories of those occasions.
They even drove across the state to support my first S. Florida solo art exhibition and took home a painting for themselves.
After I lost my own father, Paul made a point to reach out periodically. To say hello, tell me he was proud of me, offer the occasional fatherly advice, and share love. It was kindness that I will hold in my heart forever.
Paul left this world better than he found it. He was a man of great honor, wisdom, and kindness. I am grateful to have known him and his beautiful family. They are his proudest legacy.
Rest well, Papa Rose. I love and miss you. 💕
