Ramona L. Jarvis' Obituary
Ramona L. Jarvis of Ocala, Florida, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Hospice of Marion County after some recent health challenges. She was 87. Ramona was born April 10, 1929 in Tampa, Florida to the late William Gaston and Twynette Tidwell. She worked throughout her professional career as a clerical assistant in an office environment. She was deeply devoted to her faith and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Ocala. Ramona enjoyed being a pastor’s wife, being involved in church, family and giving back to her community. Ramona also became active in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. She was a beloved wife, a devoted mother, a dear sister and a loving grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Ramona is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45+ years, O. L. Jarvis, Jr. (July 13, 2002); her daughter, Ruth Taylor (2015); her sister, Willette Tidwell and her brother, G. Allen Tidwell. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Byron Jarvis and his wife, Linda; her son in law, Michael Taylor and her sister-in-law, Annell Tidwell. She leaves behind by her five loving grandchildren, Brittany Conner, Brandon Jarvis, Ashton Jarvis, Laura Pittman and Ashley Cole. She is also the beloved great grandmother of seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 10am – 11am followed by funeral ceremonies at 11am, Saturday, September 3, 2016 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida, 33907. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, O. L. Jarvis, in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
