1SG Hart was a father figure to me and many others whom served under him. He was an amazing leader who’s caring spirits often showed by his complete comedic acts at times that has everyone laughing! All though I just found out he passed.. I have to pay my respects to the man who molded me. Gone but not forgotten TOP!! RIH
27 Dec 2016First Sergeant Ray Hart and Family:I have known and worked with First Sergeant Hart for the past 20 plus years. He was one of the great JROTC Instructors and I know that he is sadly missed at Dunbar High School. It was always a pleasure to talk with Ray, he was always happy and upbeat. He truly loved what he did – mentoring, teaching, leading, and guiding the young men and women of the Dunbar JROTC Program to graduate from High School and to always do their absolute very best! Thank You First Sergeant for the many great memories of watching you in action with the Cadets of the Tiger Battalion. I for one miss you and miss our conversations that we shared about JROTC and our military service. Big RIP he was my other brother. We grew up from babies and loved each other all of our lives. RIP was such a meticulous person, no other could compare except my brother Sugar Bear. They grew up being and doing all the things that brothers do, but family made them who they were. God bless Rip, tell Ellis we will see you both at the gate.

1st SGT Hart was a respected man here at Dunbar High School and one that helped countless young men and women believe of a better future. He provided a sense of independence, ownership, gratitude, and most of all respect while he was here. 1st Sgt Hart, I'll forever remember you. I always be grateful for those 'subtle' life lessons that I'll never forget. Many of my favorite high school memories include you in them. You will be truly missed and always remembered.
1SG Hart always supported our efforts to make our students stronger readers. I am a better teacher and person because I had the honor of working with 1SG Hart.
