Rexford G. Sturgill, 75, of North Fort Myers, FL, died at his residence on June 13, 2016. Mr. Sturgill has bequeathed his body to University of Florida College of Medicine. Memorials: First Apostolic Church of Cape Coral, 2131 Diplomat Parkway, Cape Coral, FL 33909, or United Pentecostal Church Intl., 8855 Dunn Rd, Hazelwood, MO, 63042-2209.Rexford was born July 18, 1940 in Whitesburg, KY, the son of Shelby and Lois Hart Enlow. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Glenn Sturgill and his wife Sharon of Orlando, FL, David Sturgill and his wife Kim of Seymour, IN, Brian Sturgill and his wife Nicole of Seymour, IN, Glynna Bates Hamilton and her husband Joey of Naples, FL; siblings Charity Hall and her husband Jerry of Columbus, IN, Ramona Caudill and her husband Bob of Whitesburg, KY; grandchildren, Jessica Sturgill, Andrea Sturgill-Yoeder, Bryan Sturgill, Alexander Sturgill, Zachary Sturgill, Jimmy Wheeler and Logan Hamilton. Preceding in death are his parents; one brother, David Sturgill; and one sister, Dana Reeves. Rexford was a veteran of the US Army serving as a military policeman. As a civilian, Rexford worked as a carpenter for Haiderer Homes in Columbus, IN. He retired in 2008, relocating to North Fort Myers.He was a member of the Pentecostal faith. He was also an allegiant member of the AMVETS Post 81 in North Fort Myers and American Legion post 89 of Seymour, IN. The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Rexford.
