Richard F. Tobin's Obituary
Richard died on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Avow Hospice Hospital in Naples, Florida at the age of 74. The funeral Mass will be held April 15th, 2015 at Our Lady’s Star of the Sea, 5411 Amboy Rd., Staten Island, NY. Richard was born on August 23, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of the late Francis Joseph and Eleanor Tobin (Peterson)and brother to Diane and Dennis. Richard married Dolores (DiGeronimo) on February 14, 1992 in New Jersey where they resided for many years until they relocated to Naples, Florida where they were happily enjoying the next phase of their lives together. Richard worked as a Stevedor for P&O Ports in Baltimore, Maryland from which he retired, and worked in New Jersey and New York ports as well. Richie T as he was so lovingly known, was a friend of Bill W for over 25 years where he made many dear life long friends along his journey. He was a great friend and mentor to many, giving so freely of his time, experience and knowledge to any who needed him. He was a kind and gentle spirit and he will be sadly missed. Richie loved horses and horse racing, going to the track was one of his favorite hobbies. He also loved the beach, playing cards, going on cruises, and hanging out with his friends, Richie loved life and he really loved to laugh. Surviving are his loving wife of 23 years Dolores, his Daughter Linda Simone, her husband Dennis and their daughter Victoria from Staten Island, New York. Also surviving Richard are his sister Diane Reich and her husband Thomas of Staten Island, NY, his brother Dennis and his wife Maureen from Brooklyn, NY and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent’s DePaul or Avow Hospice Hospital in Naples, Florida
