Nancy and family. Rich and I were best of friends all through school in Eau Claire. We spent a lot of time together. I remember Rich always worked in high school earning money to purchase that 1955 White Chevy convertible.Rich actually got me into the dating scene when I was 16. We often double dated, and attended all the dances in the area. After high school we drifted apart, however our memories will last forever. Rich was always a hard worker and a good student. No wonder he became a very successful employee at Ford. He will be missed. Dan Marquis

I knew Rich through Joe, and have talked to him and heard about his life many times and yours also. Actually, we've met each other also on occasion. I think the last time was at John's funeral. It's difficult to put into words how much Rich meant to me as a friend as well as my supervisor in Milwaukee. He was professional, friendly and also funny. He shared "wisdom" with me that really changed the way I looked at and handled difficult situations. I treasure memories and will miss his "routine" emails.Nancy, you are in our prayers. I have considered Rich a great friend since we met working together at Ford over 25 years ago. Rich had a passion for everything he did whether it be for his family, politics, golf, business, and Notre Dame/Packer football of course. I've always enjoyed my time with Rich…there was never a dull moment. Most memorable was a vacation cruise to the Mediterranean along with Nancy, Nancy's sister and brother-in-law Jack and Sue Martinic, and my wife Donna. We all had such a great time. Rich was a prankster. I'll never forget going to Publix and waiting in the car while Nancy and Donna shopped. Rich had brought along a (excuse the expression) fart machine. He placed the machine on the roof of the car and would set it off as people walked by. The looks we got were incredible. Rich and I could not stop laughing. That's the way it was with Rich…you never knew what was going to happen next.Our most sincere sympathies go out to Nancy and the family. Rich was a great person I'll always remember with love, and he will be missed by many.Jeff and Donna Strongin.

From a young man to an adult, he was gifted with much ambition and motivation. He was blessed with a beautiful family and his loving wife. I believe he saw a vision and lived the American dream some only dream of having. Essential quality served him well and he used it wisely in his endeavors. Stephy and i send our deepest condolences to his wife Nancy….. their children Scott, Susan and grand children. Words can not express your loss, and we hope the following scriptures below will comfort you through the following days. What I remember about Rich was his great big smile when he was doing his favorite things like the pictures that I saw of him swimming in the pool with his grandkids; and how happy he was driving his golf cart around and going to his favorite places like Costco, Sams club, and H.H. Greg. because he loved his electronics. Rich and Nancy always were kind and generous hosts. You will be missed Rich. Sister-in-law Sue Karchunas

My brother Rich was a great mentor to me especially since our fathers death in 1968. I was only 12 years old and Rich was very comforting to me at a such difficult time in my life. Rich was also a great mentor to me as an adult. I will treasure the visits I had at his house along with his wonderful wife Nancy; also the many golf games we had together and his golf lessons; also the numerous phone conversations we had together over the years. I will miss Rich that words cannot explain, Rich was such a great brother to me that I will always cherish. God bless his precious wife Nancy who assisted him in every way; his son Scott and his family; and his daughter Susan and her family. Rich along with his wife Nancy did an outstanding job raising their children to be such wonderful people, Of course, Rich adored his grandchildren; he told me once that his family is the driving force to help him overcome his health struggles. Rich was the best friend a guy could have. He was gregarious, kind, compassionate, humorous, competitive, engaging, intelligent, and loyal. I was privileged to work with Rich at Ford for over 30 years. He is my oldest daughter's Godfather, and I am honored to call him my best friend for the last 42 years. Nancy, my sincerest condolences to you, Scott, Susan, and all the grandkids. My heart aches to have lost such a fine man and trusted friend. May God Bless you, Rich, and may you rest in piece.
