Richard Anthony Quodomine Jr.'s Obituary
Richard Anthony Quodomine Jr. of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
Richard was born in Newark, New Jersey on January 12, 1938 and was the proud son to Dorothy (Saporita) and Richard Anthony Quodomine Sr. He was predeceased by his parents, his stepmother: Laney Quodomine, and his brothers James Quodomine and Paul Quodomine. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helen Voorhees Quodomine; children Richard Davenport Quodomine and Mairi Ellen Quodomine (Erin Kelly); grandchildren Cullen Joseph Rose and Richard Andrew Spencer Quodomine; sister Linda Quodomine; and sister in law Janet Quodomine.
He grew up in Bloomfield, NJ where he graduated Bloomfield HS, and participated in theater, bowling and football. He received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and an MS in Industrial Management from the New York Institute of Technology. He served in the US Army; including his time with ROTC and as a reserve, he was in the military from 1958-1970. He was discharged honorably with the rank of Specialist 5th class.
He was a 62 year member of IEEE (electrical engineering society) and a 50 year member of the US Power Squadron, where he attained the office of District Commander. He was also a brother of Alpha Phi Omega.
A Memorial Service for Richard was celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2022 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. A Military Funeral Tribute was also offered in honor of Richard's service to our nation by members of the Honor Guard from the United States Army.
