Robert was my mum’s best friend for as long as I can remember, and over the years he became like an uncle to me and my brother Joel. He was a constant presence in our lives—turning up every week without fail, always with a big bag of sweets, like Santa.
We had a long-running joke between us, as I was always trying out different diets - he’d walk in with his chocolates and say, “Oh well, you won’t want this then!” and we’d both laugh at how quickly I’d end up eating them anyway.
Robert joined us for Christmas trips to the theatre and was always there on our birthdays to celebrate with us. Robert was endlessly kind, warm, and always cheerful. He took a genuine interest in our lives—always asking how I was getting on with the animals, how work was going, and without fail, checking in on my dog, Remi.
His thoughtfulness and constant presence made him so much more than a family friend—Robert truly was part of our family, and we will always carry his love with us.
I miss Robert dearly. We all do.
All my love,
