Robert Louis Dreyer's Obituary
Robert L. Dreyer, 92 of N. Fort Myers, FL, peacefully passed on to his reward, at Charlotte Regional Medical Center, in Punta Gorda, FL on August 31, 2012. His wife Nancy was by his side as she had been since they met in 1972. Bob was born in Lynn, MA, June 8, 1920. MA was ?Ç£home?Ç¥ until moving to Florida in 1986. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force from March 1942 to January 1946. He was a Control Tower Operator, last stationed on Amchitka, in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. Before leaving MA, his last personal accomplishment was to earn his B.A. in the Management of Health and Human Services from the U. Mass Boston in 1980. He is survived by wife, Nancy; children, Stephen (Diane) Dreyer of West Lake Village, CA, Sharlene Dreyer Ford of Wakefield, MA, Andrew (Cathy) Dreyer of Saugus, MA, Ava Dreyer of Framingham, MA; grandchildren, Evan Dreyer, Jamie Dreyer, Kendall Dreyer, Julia Rose Dreyer, Brian Seekins and great-grandchildren, Benjamin Dreyer, Charlotte Dreyer, Rachel Dreyer, Samuel Dreyer. Bob leaves behind a legacy of happy memories. He always had a joke to tell; loved performing in plays and skits, especially (impersonating Jimmy Durante); played softball until he was 86, was an avid L.F.?ÇÖs golfer and bowled through his 92 birthday; volunteered at C.R.M.C. for 20 years and stayed a Red Sox and N.E. Patriots fan always. His most recent great pleasure and honor was serving as a Coach for the Suncoast Youth Archery Team in N. Fort Myers.
