Bob was the grandfather my daughters never had. He watched them for me when as a single mother I had to sit open houses on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and he so graciously gave up his free time to watch my newborn and my 2 year old. He loved to treat them to chocolate whoppers and would ask them in his kitchen "So girls what do you want for dessert today?" and they would answer in unison "Uncle Bob, we want a whopper!!!" He had a playground in his housing complex and my girls would go down the slide hour after hour. He fed them and all I had to do was pick them up when I was done working and he was a true Godsend. He was a very special man and they brought him as much joy as he brought us, I hope in my heart. He had kitty cats always and they would play with his kitty cats and nap and just in general hang out with him. He was a wonderful man and we will miss him dearly. We were disappointed when he moved away and my girls had just spoken to him on Christmas day and told him they loved him and I had just spoken to him in the last month. I feel so bad about what happened to him and how mishandled he was by the medical profession. He was one in a million and he was our special gift in this life. Thank you Bob for the wonderful, caring man you were to my daughters, I could never repay you for the time you spent with them and the peace that brought to my heart knowing they were in good hands with you. They will never forget the wonderful memories you made together. Thank you again Brenda for letting me know. You should be so proud of the man your father was! I am so very sorry for your loss. When I lost my mother 38 years ago I found this verse and I would like to share it with you. The tide recedes and leaves behind bright seashells on the sand, the sun goes down but gentle warmth still lingers on the land, the music stops and yet it echoes on in sweet refrains…..for every joy that passes something beautiful remains.Let things remembered bring you peace. With love and best wishes in your time of great loss, Sandi Barrett and Barrett and Holly Taylor Scottsdale, Arizona
