Bob was an amazing Dean of students when I attended N high in the late 80’s. When the class I wanted to take was full one summer he allowed me to become his office aide. The skills I acquired that summer served me well in later years.
In 2013 I saw Bob again while at Fleamasters, we spoke several weekends when he’d come there, mostly to walk through for exercise. We became good friends , I’d check up on him once in a while. I haven’t heard back from him in a long while since he was being treated for his health. I decided to look him up today feeling I’d find this sad news , that he had indeed passed. To his family, although he had to be tough on some students, he was always fair. For me he was a great role model in my youth, and a caring friend in my adulthood. He is most definitely missed.
We have so many memories of Uncle Bob. The times we would come down to Fort Myers Beach and he and the family would come out and we’d swim lay in the sun and swim in the pool and eat. I miss him terribly, but I know he is in a better place with family, and looking down on all of us and smiling.
So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was one of the good guys from the good old days in Lee County Schools. In addition to working with Toma for many years, I knew Bob as the guy who facilitated the use of the FMMA gym for youth basketball. My thoughts and prayers for your family.
I worked with Bob for many years at FMMA and will always be gratefull for the confidence he had in me to do things right. We shared several interests and he was a great mentor and friend. An all around great man.
To the Trombetti family. I worked with Bob for nine years at FMMA. We shared many stories about our family & experiences in life. He was very good to my girls that went through FMMA. A little story - My husband and I were driving down Crystal and said I wonder how Bob is. It was 10/21/23. My condolences to everyone.

Nate and Todd- your Dad and Mom were so proud of both of you. Their lives were spent thinking of ways to create family memories. I remember the very pleased look on your Dad’s face when he pulled up in his Plymouth Roadrunner- and took the time to educate me about the 383 motor. He was a trendsetter but not a show off- a classy man with dignity.
I know you both will carry the Trombetti name forward with the same reverence and honor.
