Robert Michael Trombetti's Obituary
Robert (Bob) M. Trombetti, a man of faith passed away, on October 21, 2023 at the age of 76. Bob was born in Lyons, NY, April 18, 1947 to parents Henry and Angeline Trombetti and was raised with his sister Mary Ann Swan. Bob graduated from Florida Atlantic University in Miami, FL. Shortly thereafter, Bob married the love of his life Toma S. Trombetti on June 12, 1970. Bob and Toma began their journey as educators and parents in Fort Myers, Florida in 1973.
Throughout his thirty-five-year tenure with the Lee County School District, Bob was well-respected, hard-working, dedicated, and always dependable. He mentored many up-and-coming administrators through the years. He made many life-long friends with his colleagues and is remembered fondly by students. He worked at Suncoast Middle, Cape High, North High, and Ft Myers Middle where he remained until he retired in 2008.
To his family, he was kind, generous, and always there to just listen. Bob coached many years of Little League. He instilled a love of the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees into his sons and grandsons. As a father and grandfather, he attended games and practices. Bob was always behind the lens taking photos and loved his family dearly. Grandpa doted on his grandsons and shared his love for fossils and sharks teeth. Bob loved to antique, treasured a good western movie, enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife and love of 43 years, Toma Stubblefield Trombetti. Bob is survived by his sons; Nate (Tara) and Todd (Lorie), grandsons; Gavin, Jake (Mel), Ethan, John-Paul, and Canon; and great-grandson Jaxon. Grandpa, we love you and will never forget you.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 17th, 2023 at 10:30 am at Church of the Resurrection, Fort Myers. Immediately following, the family invites friends and family to a gathering in the Parish Hall.
