Robert Dean Tussey's Obituary
Robert Dean Tussey of Fort Myers, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday, March 3, 2025. Bob was born to Samuel Dean Tussey and Gladys Amelia Hoover Tussey on April 29, 1944 in Altoona, PA.
He attended Milton Hershey School were he graduated in 1962. Bob was a proud United States Army Veteran, he was stationed in Ft. Leonard Wood. Immediately after his discharge he went to work for Post Engineers at Fort Leonard Wood, where he retired after 30 years. He then worked at the Missouri Department of Corrections for 17 years.
In 1965, he was married to Phyllis Adams. They were married 43 years and lived their life in Missouri until she passed in 2008. Bob later moved to Fort Myers, FL to warmer weather and to enjoy retirement. He joined McGregor Baptist Church where he met Donna Carter. They were married on June 6, 2015. Bob and Donna spent their nine years of marriage serving in ministry together at McGregor. Bob loved the Lord, his family and serving others. He was happiest when he was helping others. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his mom, whom he lost at a young age; and dad; Stepmother, Patricia Moore Tussey; his wife, Phyllis; two daughters, Carolyn Lewis and Phyllis Ann Courtney; one grandson; two great grandsons and a great great granddaughter.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Donna Tussey; one son, George Adams; two siblings, Douglas Tussey and his wife, Gerry, Jan Cleaves and her husband, John; nine grandchildren, Lori, Leslie, Tammy, Christy, Jessica, Michael, Josh, Lindsay and Cami; 18 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated at McGregor Baptist on April 10th at 11AM.
A Graveside service will be held in Tuscumbia, MO where Robert will be laid to rest with Military Honors.
