Rodrigo "Roger" M. Rubio's Obituary
Roger M. Rubio, affectionately known as poppy by his grandbabies, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2013, with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born March 14, 1955, in Monterrey, Mexico, to the late Francisco Rubio, Sr. and the late Guadalupe Matias. Roger graduated from Riverdale High School in 1974 and attended Lee County Vocational Technical School where he received his auto body repair certification. Soon after, he met his soul mate and the love of his life Pamella, whom he married in 1975.Roger was the ultimate family man who devoted his life to his wife, raising their 4 children and spoiling his 8 grandchildren. He spent almost a decade with the Fort Myers Little League where he coached all of his children?ÇÖs baseball and softball teams. Roger loved to fish, attend NASCAR races with his wife, golf with his sons, cook with his daughter, spoil his grandchildren and barbeque for his family and friends. His smile was infectious, his friendship sincere and his love endless.He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his devoted wife of 37 years, Pamella Maikranz Rubio, his daughter Crystal (Jeffrey) Mansell, sons Roger (Phyllis) Rubio, Jr., Eric (Bekah) Rubio, and grandchildren Bethanie, Brandon, Carl, Kaitlynn, Kaylee, Ashleigh, Charles and Alexis. He also leaves his brother Francisco Rubio, Jr., sisters Marcelina Matias, Celia Cortez, Martha Rocha and dozens of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Roger was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Marie in 2005, his mother, father, and sisters Maria Eva and Maria Luisa.Services will be held on Thursday, March 14th at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. with Funeral Service beginning at 3 p.m.Online condolences may be made at http://fortmyersmemorial.reachlocal.net. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best.
