My favorite memory of Romaine is the day she talked me off the ledge. It was the day before my wedding in Boston, over 15 years ago. I was ready to be the runaway bride and shut the whole thing down. I called Romaine half crazed. She let me rant then calmly said, "Now listen, you have the party all paid for, all these people have come in from out of town. You go and have a nice time, enjoy your party! You can always get divorced later!" Of course in her infinite wisdom she was right again. And I'm still married. Actually I think she has talked me off the divorce ledge a few times, lol.
