Romaine S. Greene's Obituary
Romaine S. Greene, 93, of North Fort Myers, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 at her residence. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. Family will meet with friends one hour prior to services. Memorials: Susan G. Komen, Southwest Florida, 4061 Bonita Beach Road, suite 103, Bonita Springs, FL 34134. Romaine was born February 17, 1922 in Scranton, PA, the daughter of Benedict and Martha Kaspernowski. Romain worked as a hairstylist for the stars, in New York City, serving many stars from Woody Allen, Dustin Hoffman and multiple movie sets for over 40 years. Her skills as a hairstylist were well renowned and respected in the entertainment industry. She was a member of Union Local 798 New York City Hair and Make Up. She retired at the age of 89, last working on the set of the television series, “Burn Notice”. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed her time with her daughter and grandchildren. Surviving are her daughter, Donna Battersby of Forest Hills, NY, sister, Betty Bonfiglio and her husband Joe of Toms River, NJ; grandchildren Jayson, Darren, Matt, Dana, Sara, Dri; great grandchildren, Brianna, Kyra, Hudson, Madlyn, Ethan, and Avril. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
