Rose Battaglia's Obituary
Rose Battaglia of Jacksonville Beach, FL, formerly of Fort Myers, passed away on Sunday, January 24th. She was born Rosalia Riso on January 20, 1914 in New York City. She was the first of nine children born to Josephine (Zito) and Andrew Riso, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Samuel F. Battaglia, three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Battaglia is survived by daughters, JoAnn Battaglia Dinoff of Syracuse, NY , Regina Battaglia Machols (Albert) of Jacksonville Beach, FL and son Edward Battaglia of Fort Myers Beach, FL; sisters Pauline Gullo, Mary Davidson and Theresa Suozzi ; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Rose’s life was honored on January 29, 2016 during a funeral service celebrated by Reverend William Kelly at the Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. A mass was celebrated on Tuesday, February 2 in Fort Myers. Interment was in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens .
