Russell Calvert Bushnell's Obituary
Russell Calvert Bushnell, age 60, of Cape Coral, Florida, went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, February 4, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Bethesda, Maryland, and lived most of his childhood in Marion, Virginia. He was a devoted Christian who loved and faithfully served the Lord. Russ was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman, especially enjoying the NASCAR racing season, football and baseball seasons. He was a loving husband, father, son and friend to many.
Russ is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mildred and Donald Bushnell and his maternal grandparents, Ellen and Harry Britt and Calvert Cissel, his father, Guy Bushnell, sister, Barbara Bushnell and sister in law, Amy Miller Blackwell.
Russ is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cindy Miller Bushnell; his son, Josh Bushnell and wife, Katie, and 6 grandchildren of Silvas, Illinois; his mother, Ann Cissel Bushnell of Fort Myers, Florida; his stepmother, Sharon Bushnell of Mason Tennessee; stepsisters, Shellie Barnes and husband, Mike, and children of Bartlett, Tennessee; Kellie Reninger and children of Mason Tennessee; stepbrother Mack Reninger and wife, Heidi, and children of Oakley, California. He is also survived by his in-laws, Mary and Al Miller of Marion, Virginia; his sisters-in-law, Roxane and Richard Evans of Marion, Virginia; Sheri and Steve Gregory of Chilhowie, Virginia; several nieces, nephews and his maternal aunt and uncle, Nancy and Frank Frangione of Vero Beach, Florida; numerous cousins and many friends.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, social workers and others who faithfully cared for Russ and provided invaluable support and guidance through his battle with cancer. Above all, we thank the Lord Jesus for His steadfast love and enduring comfort.
