My condolences to Abuela , Junior , Eddie , Freddie , Yvonne & my mom Diana . Abuelo will be very much missed & Loved forever ! My brother Danny & I had so much fun with Abuelo when we would visit Puerto Rico for school break every summer as kids . He would take us to the Boogaloo in Catano where we ate seafood , listened to music & played on the beach . I remember I would cry @ the airport not wanting to go back home. Abuelo was like the Mayor everywhere we would go . He treated everyone like family . he was very entertaining especially when he danced . He would shake his leg like MJ & his eyes would light up the room with energy . I always felt safe around him . As a kid I remember he would hold his St Lazerous charm and cross & would pray for us. When my grandparents lived on 59th & 8th Ave in Brooklyn Danny & I loved spending the weekend & playing with my cousins . I know Abuelo will be watching us from heaven with Saints & Angels beside him . Love Always , Angel , Emily & Sophia
My sincere condolences to Idalia, JR, Diana and the rest of the family. I knew him as "Franky". Every time Diana, Danny and I visited, he welcomed us with a great big smile and open arms. He was kind and loving. The stories I heard about him always described him as a loving father and grandfather. When I witnessed his interactions with his children and grandchildren, this is exactly what he demonstrated. Franky you are sorely missed. So regret your loss Idalia and family.
Beautiful words from a beautiful daughter.

My step dad was a great man. A man who loved my mother dearly, he married her with 4 children, me being the eldest and loving each one of us as his own. He was proud of all his children. A man who loved and rejoiced each time a grandchild was born. Angel, Daniel and all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren were blessed to have such a loving caring grandfather. He had a politiciansâ?? personality, everywhere he went he was loved â?? everyone was his â??cousinâ? as my mother teased him.Two weeks before his passing he said to me â??I am ready to goâ? and I said to him â??when that time comes you go in peace for you have been a great dad. Yes, his job here is done and he now lives in our hearts! He will be dearly missed.Diana Cartagena (Cadiz)
