Sarah Gallman Strickland's Obituary
Sarah Gallman Strickland, 91, formerly of Fort Myers passed away on November 2, 2015 in Sevierville, TN where she resided with her daughter. She is survived by 3 children; Jack Strickland, Jr. (Nancy), Michael Strickland (Veronica), and Pam Porter (Bob); 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; 3 sisters and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Jack Strickland, Sr., daughter, Paula Hanners and grandson, Mark Allen Strickland. Sarah was a resident of Fort Myers for 70 years and a member of Riverside Baptist Church for 67 years. She was employed by Lee County School Food Service for 13 years and retired from the Lee County Tax Collector’s Office. Her greatest love was cooking and she used this talent in wedding catering and preparing family night church suppers. She was a current member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Crossroads Baptist Church, 10721 Palm Beach Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33905. Family will gather with friends one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to honor Sarah Strickland be given to The University of Tennessee Medical Center, Hospice Services, 2270 Sutherland Av, Ste. 101, Knoxville, TN 37919-2326.
