Cora Jane Wiggins-King
Largest service in sixty year history. It shut down Colonial and Summerlin Road. Friends and family slumped out the doors and into the parking lots to honor this young man. His friends were in abundance, including youth baseball Players and their families. Friends and family of the parents Cora Jane Wiggins (Maatsch) and Richard Michael King Shane’s best friend and sister, Gabrielle Ann King, were in mass. It was a sight to behold in many years of funeral direction. This young man and his family were honored by no less than 800 people in attendance. The largest amount of floral arrangements, sprays, wreaths and plants ever received for a cremation memorial service in our history. His customized St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Urn was placed among photos of Shane and his friends and family while a video played of him in his many years of glory as a baseball player, fisherman, practical joker and friend. He said he was a fighter not a lover and we know this to untrue. The largest parlour couldn’t contain the constant flow of mourners and well wishers. This young man had Joanna Sanders, Sam Scruggs, Levi Sourhina, Gabe McNulty and brothers Rider and Reith Morris get up and share their stories and laughs they remembered of their friend Shane. If a man is measured by the number of friends and family that love him, Shane King was a King among Kings. Godspeed Shaner, Shane Dog, Brud, Lil’ Man, Bubby and dearest son. You will be loved forever and not forgotten.
