Shane Steven King, 22, of Fort Myers, died February 12, 2017 in Fort Myers, FL. Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 PM, Friday, February 17, 2017 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33907. Family will meet with friends from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LifeLink Organ Donation Legacy Fund https://secure.donorpro.com/lifelink-foundation-donation-form Shane was born November 23, 1994 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Richard and Cora (Wiggins) King. Shane loved baseball and was a talented ball player. He played many years for South Fort Myers Little League, with his dad as his head coach for many seasons. He played for Riverdale High School as a varsity baseball player his freshman through senior year. He also had an admiration of the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and lover of water sports and boating. His dreams were to one day work in Florida Wildlife conservation. Deep down, he was a Florida Boy at heart. Surviving are his father, Rich King (Monique Ward) of Fort Myers; mother, Cora Maatsch (John Maatsch) of Fort Myers; sister, Gabrielle King (Zac Culvahouse) of Estero; grandmother, Linda Wiggins (Steve Depew); grandfather, Randolph Wiggins, Jr. (Terri Newman); uncle, Keith King (Donna King) of Fort Myers; Aunt, Amanda “Nan” Downing (Brad Downing) of Fort Myers; numerous cousins, Luke King, Kelsey King, Braden Downing, Ava Downing, Oliver Downing and his girlfriend and friend of many years, Joanna Sanders. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Shirley King and his uncle, Steve King.
