Nana Sue made my childhood magical. I loved sleeping over at her house, watching movies, and eating her homemade popcorn. We were always doing arts and crafts and making gifts for the holidays. Summers at her house were the best — spending hours in the pool and making memories I'll never forget.
As I got older, she helped me play hooky from school once or twice. And on the days I was actually sick, she would pick me up and take me back to her house. She'd snuggle me up on the couch, put on The Price Is Right, and make me toast and iced tea.
Somehow, our sleepovers continued well into my 40s. Up until the very end, we were still hanging out, drinking wine, talking for hours, and laughing until it hurt.
I can't put into words the hole this leaves in my heart or how much she will be missed. ❤️
