Sylvia Faith Beauchamp's Obituary
Sylvia Beauchamp, 89, of Fort Myers, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 12, 2020 with her husband by her side. Sylvia was born August 14, 1931 in Stratford (Montross), Virginia, daughter of the late Eugene S. Ford and Gwen B. Ford.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was predeceased by her brother, Wiley Ford and her sisters, Elizabeth Wren and Nell Brill. She is survived by a loving family including her husband, Calvin of 69 years, daughter Gail and husband Rob, granddaughters Jennifer Spratt, Ashley Swain and husband Cory, Courtney Spratt and fiance Nikos Kosmopoulos, Kimberly Sharrock and husband Taylor, Paige Spratt and Claire Spratt; great grandsons, Jason Swain and Colton Swain, along with several neices and nephews she dearly loved.
Sylvia graduated high school at 16 years old and moved to Washington, DC to work for the Internal Revenue Service, her first job, as a Purchasing Officer. In time she went to work at the Pentagon for Military Personnel until the birth of their only child. Sylvia returned to work years later for Peerless Insurance Company until the summer of 1974 when the family moved back to her hometown of Montross, Virginia to be near her mother.
Sylvia was an active member of Grant United Methodist Church while living in Virginia. She loved gardening, boating, cooking, puzzles, music, especially old hymns, travel, but most of all, she loved her family and time spent together.
In July 1996, Sylvia and Calvin moved to Fort Myers, Florida. Sylvia enjoyed the winter months that her sisters, Elizabeth and Nell, would leave the cold to stay with her in sunny Florida. Sylvia was a faithful member of Daniels Road Baptist Church after moving to Florida and enjoyed her time spent with the ladies of the church in Bible study.
Sylvia’s smile will be missed, the hugs she freely gave, her words of encouragement and always having the home that welcomed all.
Sylvia loved the Lord with all her heart and rested in the comfort that when she passed, she would be in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Road Baptist Church, 5878 Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers, Florida. The Memorial Service will also be live streamed on Daniels Road Baptist Church Facebook Page for those that are unable to attend.
