My partner Harry Boyle and I couldn't have found a bigger Fan & Friend. She was a wonderful person and didn't miss many nights of dancing and music over the years we knew her. You will be missed LaVerne by many friends. Your zest for life and fun has rubbed off on us and we thank you for that. Enjoy dancing with the Angels.

She loved, lived and laughed and gave from her open heart, no strings attached. I greatly admired her strength, loved her sense of humor and her wonderful lust for life. LaVerne has been a friend of mine for many years. It's with a very heavy heart that I say "so long till we meet again". She was a very special lady and will be missed by all of us who were blessed enough to know her.
Even in high school (me in high school, her – one of my closest friend's mother) LaVerne was more like a "sister friend" than a "mom". Full of life, extraordinarily strong in heart, manners and opinion, LaVerne mastered every task she ever took on. Later in life as the age gap closed completely and life experiences became similar, I felt blessed to have her in my life as a peer (of course, when I disagreed in conversations I was told to "respect your elder"). I could always count on her for a funny or serious 3am IM conversation online which never seemed to end… "Go to bed"… "No, YOU go to bed"…"You go to bed first"… LaVerne never lagged behind, day or night, she was leader of the pack, boundless energy and enthusiasm. Her intelligent sense of humor entertained us even at the end of days. She was a true friend to all in her circle… there will never be another LaVerne. I am sure she is already directing the angel traffic and they will grow to love her like we all do. No doubt they are saying… "Wow, the energizer bunny just arrived".

I will miss LaVerne's zest for life. She has been a friend since she opened her house to me during one of the stops on the Women's Professional Tennis Tour in 1978. She knew how to live life know matter what was thrown in her direction. Love to all her family.
