Velma LaVerne Symonds, 76, “ran out of dance floor” October 8, 2011.?á She was born March 4, 1935 in Fort Myers to the late Walter and Velma (Hambrick) Justice.?á In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband C.M. “King” Symonds in 2002; and by her 4 brothers. Mrs. Symonds is survived by her daughters, Terri (Gordon) Symonds Grow of Alexandria, Virginia and Candra (Jim Geib) Symonds of Lake Ridge, Virginia; sisters, Joe Anna Bristol and Melba Morelos both of Fort Myers; and one grandaughter, Ashlyn Pumphrey (Willie Howdyshell) of Lake Ridge, Virigina. Velma was a lifelong resident of Fort Myers and loved music, dancing, fishing, feeding birds?áand tennis.?á Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home,1589 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers, Florida.
