I am so shocked my manager will not be here anymore to guide me to sing 🎶 any more. He had just told me that in September we were going to sing 🎤 and then he called me back and said it was canceled. Who knew that would have been the last time I would have a conversation with him.

When I joined Island Records in 1973 Vernon and I became friends and that close friendship lasted until his sad passing. We shared many happy times with other Island staff, attending gigs, company events Christmas parts etc.

Jane & I had the pleasure of attending Vernon and Amba's wedding in the US it was a lovely day and we found his and Amba's family so friendly.

Vernon was a charming friendly man who enjoyed the friendship of all of the Island staff. As mentioned he was a first-class cricketer he was also handy with a paintbrush!

I will miss you, my old friend, rest easy ...Friend Ken.

So sorry to hear about Vernon's passing. As someone who knew him from many years ago at Acton Cricket Club. I was privileged to know him and also play cricket with him in my earlier years. Brilliant cricketer who would figure in any Acton cc side through th ages and a lovely man to go with it. Many a time can I remember him taking the attack to the opposition on the field of play , a real destroyer of a batsman an one of my Acton idols. God Bless you Vernon.

Vernon, was such a gentle spirit. He was kind-hearted and trustworthy. Although, we never met face-to-face, we considered him a good friend. He is truly missed.
