Virginia Regina Shukait's Obituary
Virginia Regina Shukait of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully Thursday, March 2, 2017 in her home. She was 92. Virginia was born May 13, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan; the beautiful daughter of the late Frank and Stella Maciejewski. She worked in her father’s cobbler /shoe repair shop in Lorain, Ohio where she kept the books and managed the administrative responsibilities. During the war years, as the men of her family were pulled into the war effort, Virginia stepped in and worked as a cobbler helping to keep the business operational. Her efforts succeeded and she maintained her place in the business until the late 1980’s. After retiring from the shoe shop, she and her husband moved to southwest Florida. In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew Shukait (1987) and her dear brother, Norman Maciejewski. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Norman L. Shukait and many friends and neighbors. She will be dearly missed. Virginia will be laid to rest next to her beloved Andrew in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 23, 2017.
