I first met Werner while I was tending bar at jimbo's club @ Point O Pines Girls Camp. Took an instant likeing to him as he was a real gentleman and very sincere man. He would arrive in may or early June before camp started and we would always spend time talking. He one day asked me if I was in the service and told him I was . I had gottendrafted in august of "63" and inducted on Sept.5th. Which as I recall was the same day Werner was inducted our serial numbers were one or two numbers apart My Sr. # was US51497675 and I think his ended w/76. Coincidence?Who would have thought. My wife worked at the camp one summer and she got to know Werner they would sneak down to a open air storage unit and have a coffee and smoke break. My wife and I moved to Hudson Fla. in 2012 and spoke to Werner a few times and gave him our address and 2014 he called and spent some time with My wide Penny and myselfwe got to have a couple of beers together. A memorable man.Nicholas J. de Gregory
