Werner Weissflach's Obituary
Mr. Werner Weissflach of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Gulf Coast Medical Center after some recent health challenges. He was 76. Werner was born February 21, 1940 in Wulfersreuth, Germany to the late Johann Konrad Weissflach and Anna Weissflach. In 1959, at age 19, he immigrated to the United States and took his first job as a pastry chef in New York City. For the next 57 years, Werner travelled the world where he mastered his craft as a premier konditor meister. For the last 10+ years of his career, he worked as the pastry chef for the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa. Werner also served as a proud veteran in the United States Army. He is survived by his two children, Anita W. Carroll and her husband Francis, Robert C. Weissflach and his wife Mary. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Berthold Weissflach, Christa Brence, Heinz Weissflach and Marianne Zimmermann. Werner is also the proud grandfather of three grandchildren, Kirstin, Robert and Sofia.
