William Joseph Martin's Obituary
William Joseph Martin of North Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Grandview, Missouri, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in Hope Hospice of Cape Coral. He was 94. William was born August 18, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Henry A. and Catherine Martin. He spent his entire professional career in the world of Sales. William worked in automotive sales selling Ford automobiles in West Lafayette, Indiana. He worked briefly in retail sales with Sears, Roebuck and Co. and ultimately retired from industrial sales working with Tri-State Petroleum in Kansas City, Kansas. He proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. William was also an active member of St. Therese Catholic Church in North Fort Myers, Florida and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 64+ years, Joyce Patricia Coates (July 29, 2010) and his siblings, Gertrude Mills, George Martin, Marie Van Slyke-Bean and Theresa Keilty.William is survived by his children, Kenneth P. Martin and Carol V. Lafferty (William). He is also survived by four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at St. Therese Catholic Church 20115 N.
