William Woodard Welch was my grandfather. We was the most interesting person I have ever known. He never told the same story twice and he was like a walking history book. I loved my gbrandfather very much I loved him and respected him. I am so sorry for those who didn't take time to know him. He was not only my grandfather but he was my father, because I really never knew my father. Grand-daddy taught me how to swing(he couch me until I could swing high in the air), he taught Brenda, Linda, and me how to fish and bait a hook, and he taught me how to drive when it made my mother to nerous to do the job. He let me drive all the way to the family reunion from Fort Myers when I was 15. He was the greatest man I ever knew. We would go on long trips and he it was so much fun because he would tell me the funniest stories and they were never the same. When you live amost a century you have alot of stories to tell. I loved going swimming with him because he would let jump off of his shoulders and carry me to the deep end of the pool. Grand- daddy would always be there when all the other kids would run off and leave me all alone. They didm't want a runt like me following them. I lived with this big extended family there where 11 of us at the the dinner table so he had to provide 33 meals a day. He loved us all very much. I know he told me so. I will aways love you Grand-daddy. Love, Connie
