"Bark in the Park" Brings Together Community and Canines in Fort Myers

A Fun-Filled Day Celebrating Pets, Families, and Community Bonds

On November 9, 2024, Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery was a proud sponsor of the annual Bark in the Park event hosted by the Gulf Coast Humane Society (GCHS) at Centennial Park East in downtown Fort Myers. Starting with an advocacy walk along the park’s scenic paths, the event was a celebration of pets, families, and the community’s commitment to animal welfare.

The day was filled with excitement as attendees explored a variety of vendor booths offering pet-related products, services, and resources to enrich the lives of their furry family members. Demonstrations and food trucks added to the lively atmosphere, making it an engaging experience for both pets and their people.

As a no-kill shelter, GCHS works tirelessly to care for animals in Southwest Florida, helping them find loving homes and offering programs like the Family Legacy Plan to ensure pets are rehomed if an owner passes away. The organization relies solely on donations, grants, and fundraising events like Bark in the Park to support its mission.

Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery is honored to support GCHS and looks forward to continued involvement in community events that celebrate and support all members of the family, including pets.
